So far, so good.

We’ve been using this for about a month now and it is producing better coffee than any other espresso machine we’ve had to date (Melitta, Krups). We’ve read reviews that talked about leaks and cracks, but nothing has happened yet.
Fantastic Espresso Maker at a Fraction of Cost

The traditional stove top espresso maker with a twist! While living in Morocco, I used the non-electric version of the espresso maker for years and have not been able to duplicate the flavor since I have been back in the States. The DeLonghi Alicia has taken me back to the smells and flavors of a country that I served and absolutely adore without the hassle of standing over a stove. A more convenient product, I could not imagine.
Almost perfect

I like this espresso maker very much and have one at home and one at work. I’ve been using it for about a month and can report that the coffee is very, very good and the unit is easy to clean. The only complaint I have is that it doesn’t shut itself off when the coffee is ready. I HATE overcooked coffee (which is one reason I like espresso so much – it never gets close to the heating element) and I bought this hoping I wouldn’t have to stand around to turn it off, like I do with my stove-top espresso maker. But it doesn’t shut itself off, so I do have to stick around. A very nice surprise is that, so long as the unit is in place on the base, you can set the button to “on” and it stays set, even if unplugged. This means (I hope) that I can plug it into a timer (once I make it over to Lowe’s to buy one) so that the coffee is ready when I wake up.
Bialetti 6-cup top will replace broken plastic top
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
When the transparent plastic top breaks (and with constant use, it will) you can simply replace it with a more sturdy top from a Bialetti 6-cup stove-top model like this: Bialetti Moka Express 6-Cup Stovetop Percolator. Don’t throw it all away. No need to buy an entire new one. I dislike the build in redundancy of some modern products, so I’m glad to be able to share this tip.
Best Expresso maker
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I have had stove top coffee makers like this one but this electric version is over the top. The coffee tasted great. No more worries about burning the coffee. No more worries about the coffee spilling over because you weren’t watching it. It is also more compact than other espresso coffee makers and keeps it warm awhile too. I bought one for a good friend of mine for her office. With an office full of Hispanic women you can only imagine how popular she was. I would recommended this product to others.
Nice for office use

This unit works as expected. I use it at work. The power requirements are low and it makes a pretty decent office cup.
I love this machine, but the plastic carafe cracks
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
I love this machine, it makes great espresso and is easy to handle. The only problem is that I have experienced the same problem many others have experienced…the plastic carafe cracks from the heat and eventually falls apart. The replacement carafe is $30 and that bugs me to have to pay for a defective part like this.
COFFEE LOVER

THIS MACHINE IS AWESOME. IT TAKES VERY LITTLE ROOM ON YOUR COUNTER. IT PERFORMS WONDERFULLY FOR ONE TO TWO SERVINGS ONLY (PREFERRABLY ONE BIG ONE)
Love it!

Very nice, makes great espresso type drink using a realtively easy process with no need to purchase special coffee! However, a recent splurge on Kona Peabody proved to be especially delightful when brewed in the Alicia Moka Espresso Coffee Maker.
Delonghi Espresso Coffee Maker does the job well but…
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
It does the job well, the coffee is hot and tasty, it is easy to clean but the looks can be improved. I am used to the italian coffee makers which are stylish so when I first received Delonghi I wanted to send it back – it looks cheap and honestly, homely… but after trying it I really like it… I recommend!
Great until container cracks in about 1-2 years
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
This espresso maker makes great espresso however without the foam and even with careful handling and only twisting the metal base rather than the handle the plastic container at the top eventually cracks resulting in hot espresso bubbling out onto countertop. Apparently Delonghi does not sell just the container so I have tried replacing top with a metal 4-6 cup container from a stovetop unit but the gaskets get too hot and melt so I would suggest keeping unit in 1/4 sheet pan or flat bottomed bowl while plugged in and being used to avoid a mess when it fails and planning on replacement every couple years. My first lasted 2 years the second 1 year a friends lasted about a 1 1/2 year.
Better than machines 10 times more expensive.

I am a coffee snob with every piece of brewing and grinding equipment a consumer can have. Seriously. There isn’t a brewing method I don’t have the machine for. I’ve used Moka espresso makers before and loved them, but didn’t like that they required supervision on the stovetop. If the flame is too hot or too cool it doesn’t come out right. The electricity-based Alicia takes out all the guesswork and tweaking.
I used to split time evenly between a Stainless Steel French Press, a Saeco Espresso machine, and a Cuisinart drip coffee maker. It all depended on what I felt like that day. That was before my Alicia was gifted to me. I’ve had it now for five months and I have not used any other machine since.
It is the Goldilocks of brewing methods. If I want espresso I use a finer grind and less water. If I want something akin to a drip coffee I use course grinds and top off with hot water. If I want a milk-based drink it’s good for au laits and lattes if you adjust the grind right- you have to fire up a stovetop of espresso machine for the milk of course -it even makes a wonderful hybrid somewhere between espresso and coffee that only it can produce (a dark strong coffee, but with crema…tears to my eyes). Instant iced coffee. Mild Roasts, Medium Roasts, dark or extra dark. ALL delicious. It is just about idiot proof. I can’t remember making a bad cup of coffee with this thing.
I cannot say enough good about it- compact, easy as hell to clean, economical (use less beans, don’t need filters), quick, everything you could want in a home brewing machine. In short, if you love coffee: GET ONE.
Now all Delonghi needs to do is make one four times as big for when I have company over.
Good quality, no problems.

These are great for traveling, asides from the fact that we use it daily. If you enjoy espresso and want the convenience of plug it in anywhere you go, this is ideal! Highly recommend it. Durable and well made.
MODERN ITALIAN STYLE
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
ITALIAN COFFEE IN THE BEST ITALIAN TRADITIONAL WAY. EASY TO USE AS THE TRADITIONAL MOKA MAKERS WITHOUT WORRYING FOR TURNING OFF THE FLAME OF THE KITCHEN. A VERY PRACTICAL COFFEMAKER. COFFEE NEVER TASTE SO GOOD.
I love this Moka Machine!

Take your time and read the entire manual before you use this Moka Machine and you will make great Moka!
Some tips to remember,
1. Make 2 or 3 separate brews and discard them. (Allow to cool, 1+ hours)
2. Make sure you tighten by holding the chrome base and NOT the plastic
pitcher.
3. Use expresso cups (2 oz.) as this Moka Machine only makes 8 oz.
4. Completely rinse and clean before each use!
Enjoy your Moka!
